CONCEPT | “The World’s Backyard” is an artwork created through collage, built from original photographs by Lucas Belchior, portraying everyday life as the center of existence, where everything is born and lives. The work speaks about the backyard as an emotional territory of the Brazilian people: the place where life happens, where families gather, where lady nostalgia together with her real memories are created. Where axé makes its home during barbecues and Sunday lunches. A common and sincere space for every human being living here. The scene unfolds in front of a favela in Rio de Janeiro, where simple everyday symbols such as plants, atabaques, kites, sun and neighborhood compose a small yet immense intimate and shareable universe of Brazilian life.
