CONCEPT | “Summer Metamorphosis” is a collage that observes one of the most emblematic rituals of Rio de Janeiro: the encounter between body, sun and rest. On the beach, the carioca goes through a silent transformation. Between the sand, the heat and the sound of the sea, the body slows down, rests and blends into the landscape. The figures in the artwork appear in a state of solar repose, as if they were in a collective pause within the intensity of the city. The faces transformed into natural elements suggest a fusion between nature and human presence, evoking the metamorphosis that happens when summer takes over the city. The work builds an emotional landscape of everyday carioca life. More than a beach scene, the artwork speaks about belonging, rest and the body that finds in summer a space for existence and freedom within the rush of daily life.
